Sample Two Itinerary 16-Day Adventure Around China 2010 ---- Departure: April -- Nov, 2010
Day 01 US/Beijing Depart on your trans-pacific flight in the air from USA to Beijing --- the capital city of the People s Republic of China. Meals included in-flight. Day 02 Arrive in Beijing Welcome to Beijing! Arrive at Beijing International Airport in the afternoon. Clear Chinese immigrations and customs. Airport reception and private transfer to 4-star Best Western Hotel or similar hotel. Dinner on own Day 03 Beijing (B,L,D.)Private escorted excursion to Tiananmen (Gate of Heavenly Peace) Square --- the world s largest public square, representing the central Heart of China. You will notice the Monument to the People s Heroes, Chairman Mao s Memorial Hall, Qian-men, the Great Hall of the People, and the Museum of the Chinese Revolution and the Chinese History along the spine of the square. Behind the Gate of Heavenly Peace is the Forbidden City. This architectural marvel was completed in 1420 after 14 years of hard work by 200,000 laborers. It was the home of 24 emperors from Ming and Qing Dynasties. Followed with a leisurely walk through Jinshan Park where is just cross the street, from where you may have a short comfortable hike to a nearby peak (37 meters) where you can get a fantastic full view of the Forbidden City. After lunch a tour to the Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, one of the busiest and the most famous shopping streets in Beijing, where you will notice the traditional style and the modern style combined harmoniously. Beijing Traditional Acrobatics as an optional Show for the evening.. Day 04 Beijing (B,L,D) Private escorted excursion to the Great Wall Badaling section. The construction of the Great Wall started in the 7th century BC during Qin Dynasty, making the Great Wall over 2,500 years old. Our bus will drive us at the foot of the Wall and we will have 1-2 hours hiking on the Wall. Afterwards a drive along the magnificent Sacred Way to Ming Tombs where is the burial Site of 13 Emperors of Ming Dynasty. Your route to the tombs takes you along the scenic avenue called the Way of the Spirit with a triumphal arch, the Great Palace Gate, and a guard of12 sets of huge stone animals. Although Beijing has been the capital city of five dynasties, the tombs of Ming Emperors are the only one found in modern Beijing. On the way back, stop for a visit and photographs taken at Beijing s new Olympic Village with its spectacular Birds Nest , the site for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The Birds Nest, the architectural gem, is destined to become a landmark for the future. Evening: Visit to newly-opened China Grand Theater -- Day 05 Beijing/Xian (B, L, D)To experience your a tour to the Temple of Heaven. This perfect example of Ming architecture was built in the 5th century. It was considered sacred ground where many of the Emperors, as Sons of Heaven, performed major religious harvest ceremonies -- you will discover the new page for this park nowadays during your time there. Afterwards, a private escorted drive to the Summer Palace, China s best imperial garden, where an enjoyable dragon-boat cruiser will be on the peaceful Kun-Ming Lake…. then, you will go and visit Hutong, --- Beijing traditional neighborhood, where you can have the opportunity to be with Chinese families from the community in their traditional courtyard house to view their daily lifestyle… After dinner, transfer to train station for Xian via overnight sleeping train on Z19 2028/+0758. Day 06 Xian (B,L,D)Xian, used to be called ChangAn City, and was the capital of the Tang Dynasty. In Chinese ChangAn means Forever-lasting Peace and Prosperities. It was also the ancient capital for eleven other Chinese dynasties. With a history of over 2000 years, Xian was a world leader in culture and trade and played a vital role in bridging the gap between east and west. Because of its blossomed incredible past, Xian is always one of the top destination choices by tourists. The mixture of its modern and prosperous society today with its historical treasure of the past will give you an impressive memory. Train Station Reception and private transfer to 5-star Sheraton Hotel or similar hotel. Then tour to the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum. The site was accidentally uncovered in 1974 by local peasants, and is among the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. Start today s tour by viewing an informative IMAX Documentary that gives a brief overview of 2000 years of Chinese history. Followed with an on-site inspection of the 6,000 terra cotta warriors, made in the 3rd Century BC and all with different faces, expressions and postures. Then followed by a visit to the Ancient Walled City, the most complete city wall that has survived in China, and also one of the largest and most complete ancient military defense systems in the world In the evening, you will be invited to the Dumpling Banquet and the Tong Dynasty Dance & Song, --- you will feel the ancient culture and history of the powerful Tang Dynasty by marveling at the elaborate costumes, gestures, and facial expressions from the multitalented entertainers. Day 07 Xian/Chongqi (B,L,D)Start your day with a morning visit to Shanxi Museum, built at the site of a former Confucian Temple in the southern part of Xian, the largest comprehensive museum in the province, exhibiting primarily historical relics of past dynasties and displaying precious art treasures and stone carvings of the Han and Tang dynasties. After lunch, transfer to the airport for a flight of Xian / Chongqi.
